We believe in supporting our supermoms and being kind to our planet. This post will be available every Saturday at 8:00 am. All gently used items can be posted for sale as a comment on this Thread.

  • Please list location and cost.
  • No new items only used.
  • Once sold remove your items.
  • No MLM posts

It is important we keep the thread clear so our Supermoms can find upcoming events and essential group information. There are many other buy-and-sell groups. However, our focus here at Mexico City Supermoms is community and connection. Do not miss our weekly baby sale and swap post, posted on Saturdays at 8:00 am and our dedicated facebook online buy and sell sales group here.

Feel free to ask questions and receive support. This is what our group is about. Thanks for keeping our group interactive and relevant!

Online Garage Sale Etiquette.

Online garage sales can be a great way to declutter your home and make some extra cash. However, there are specific etiquette rules you should follow to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved. Here are some points to keep in mind:

  1. Facebook Rules & Community Safety Guidelines:
  2. Be clear and honest in your listings: Describe your items accurately and disclose any flaws or damage. This will help avoid misunderstandings and unhappy buyers.
  3. Set fair prices and list them within your post: Do your research and price your items reasonably. Don’t try to overcharge or undercharge, as this can lead to frustration for both parties. Prices must be listed “DM direct message for price” Price inbox” or “make an offer” listings will be deleted.
  4. Pricing Guide: Excellent or like-new condition: 40% of the original retail price. Good condition: 25% of the original retail price. Fair or poor condition: 10% of the original retail price.
  5. Respond promptly to inquiries: If someone asks a question about your item, try to respond as soon as possible. This shows that you’re a serious seller and can help build trust with potential buyers.
  6. Don’t make promises you can’t keep: If you agree to hold an item for someone or promise to deliver it by a specific date, make sure you follow through. Failing to do so can damage your reputation as a seller.
  7. Be respectful in your communication: Treat others how you’d like to be treated. Avoid using aggressive or confrontational language, and always remain professional.
  8. Know when to let go: If someone makes a fair offer on an item, don’t be afraid to accept it. Holding out for a higher price can sometimes backfire and result in no sale at all.
  9. Safety: Do not buy or sell broken or recalled items.
  10. For face-to-face meeting: it is advisable to choose a public and well-lit location. To ensure your safety, make sure to create a meeting plan and share it with a trusted friend or family member via Messenger. Consider drop off and pickup via Didi or Uber.
  11. Payment: Down payments to keep an item is not allowed. It is advised to examine any items you purchase to ensure their authenticity. For expensive items such as luxury bags or watches, it is recommended to request a certificate of authenticity or proof of purchase. Before sending any deposits for apartment rentals, it is important to view the apartment in person first.

By following these simple etiquette rules, you’ll have a more successful and enjoyable online garage sale experience. Happy selling!
